On Sunday 28th May 2017, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Chiara Lui e Luisa Maria Padorno will led the free workshop:
Where is the meaning in learning? Understanding children with Learning Disabilities.
The workshop is aimed to invite participants to a critic reflection on Learning Disabilities, that are largely diagnosed among children and teenagers. Words like Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Dysorthography have become part of the everyday language, showing a wide and complex phenomenon, that involves not only children and adolescents themselves, but also their families, schools and everyone who has to assess, rehabilitate and support them. The everyday experience of helping and supporting young students who have been diagnosed with a Learning Disability represents the opportunity to explore this world and its meanings, looking at them closely from their own perspective. Can Personal Construct Theory enhance the effort to understand them and let us say something different? Meeting a Learning Disability always means meeting a person. And the relationship between people - children and who works everyday with them - is not an optional in the intervention, but the main tool to operate, that invites adults - parents, teachers and educators - to reach and maintain a high level of consciousness of themselves towards the other.
Chiara Lui, Psychologist and Psychotherapist, learner teacher of the ICP School of Constructivist Psychology. Luisa Maria Padorno, Psychologist, student of the ICP School of Constructivist Psychology.
