On Wednesday 6th June 2018 from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the School of Institute of Constructivist Psychology, via Martiri della Libertà 13 – Padova, Italy Constructivist Talks 2018: the ICP's Students talk about...

Valentina Sosero will lead the free talk:

Would you like to know the truth? Religion, psychology and pcp: comparing these worlds

My personal experience in the Christian-Catholic world, the encounter with the psychological studies and the Kelly's Personal Construct Theory, brought me to a real research journey, and the arising questions, hypotheses and considerations. Starting from the construct of truth and the "Temptation of Certainty" by Maturana and Varela (1987), we will meet two different perspectives, religion and psychology, and we will explore together how these two disciplines have dealt with the themes of pain and suffering. Both of them enter into the therapy room and have implications to the clinical practice. Could Psychology and religion share meanings and methods when we talk about pain and suffering? How can Personal Construct Theory provide an alternative point of view?

The admission is free but reservation is required. Please, contact us at +39 049 8751669 or icp.scuola@gmail.com
