Il 13 e 14 aprile 2013 la Scuola dell’ICP ospiterà, in qualità di Visiting Professor, Spencer A. McWilliams che condurrà un workshop dal titolo Foundations of Mindfulness: Buddhist and Constructivist Psychology.

This workshop has been designed for practitioners with at least an introductory level understanding of Personal Construct Psychology, and an interest in the use of mindfulness methods and techniques in constructivist psychotherapy.   We will explore the roots of mindfulness in Buddhist psychology, which describes the interdependence, impermanence, and emptiness of phenomena and proposes viewing phenomena as conventionally real but lacking inherent identity.  We next consider the concept of self and how psychological dysfunction derives from reifying constructs such as self.  We will survey and practice meditation techniques that assist in seeing phenomena as lacking permanent essence.  Finally, we will consider examples of the application of mindfulness methods and techniques in constructivist psychotherapy.

Spencer A. McWilliams ha conseguito il Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology all’University of Rochester ed è attualmente Professor of Psychology alla California State University San Marcos.
